Diy Curtains

I love Pinterest. Finding diy projects has become a hobby for me. Rick and I have completed several diy projects since becoming fans of pinterest. This was the latest project. I took a painters drop cloth-cut it straight down the middle-then sewed a seam along the raw edge of each piece. Then we got a curtain rod from dollar general and already had some shower curtain rings with hooks. Now we have curtains for the living room that lighten the room up and makes the window appear bigger. I love when we make something with our own hands and it turns out so beautiful.

John Deere Room

If you don't know already my husband is probably the biggest John Deere fan anyone could ever meet. He has an entire room decked out in John Deere Memorbilla and he even has the John Deere logo tattooed on his left shoulder. It is not a small tattoo it is a pretty good size. This past weekend we worked on getting his room cleaned up. This is his "Man Cave" so to speak; however, the boys use it alot more than he does. He has 2 tvs in there and 2 playstation games so the boys will stay down there all day until they have to go to the bathroom or they are hungry. Good for me until the fighting starts. Anyway earlier this year we remodeled our kitchen. Which reminds me I don't think I ever posted pics of that. Shame on me.... We saved one section of cabinets to use as storage in the "John Deere" room and I have to say it turned out way better than I thought. So after a lot of paint and several headaches from the spray we finally have a room that displays his collection. We still need more shelves but at least now he can see the treasures he has and display them with pride. Here are the before and after pictures...

 

Projects Await....

I have two projects that I am dying to get started on. I have been bitten by the DIY bug ever since I became addicted aware of Pinterest. I want to try and create everything I see and redo everything I already have on hand. This TV cabinet has been sitting in our basement collecting dust for about 5 years. Then another 2 years in the garage. I was about to donate it to Salvation Army then I found Pinterest and became inspired to repurpose this into a shelving storage unit for our kitchen which is desperately crying for storage. The bench I received for FREE (yes I said FREE). I found it on the www.freecycle.org website. If you have not signed up for this site you need too. People donate things all the time because they want someone to get some good use out of it. I think this bench will get great use at our house. I hope to begin work on these projects this weekend but you all know how that goes. I will probably start it but not get anywhere close to finishing it.
